Supercells in northeastern Oklahoma

Tour Type: Tour 2
Chase Date: 2007 APR 27
Target Area: Northeastern Oklahoma
Images: 8

This was more or less a non-chase day on Tour 1, but there was a slight chance for supercells to develop in northeastern Oklahoma with the main threat being strong winds and small hail.   I've lived in northeastern Oklahoma for most of my life, so this was quite typical for a day such as this and its always fun to chase in your own backyard.  Altogether it turned into a fun day that was great for a lecture on supercells (since this was time for it and a non-tornado threat).   We are usually under a storm, which makes it rather difficult to explain storm structure at times.   It is sometimes nice to get away from the storm a bit so you can see the anvil itself and enjoy to view.
